![]() July 17, 1997 9 A.M. Bottom of Old Sandon Road in New Denver At 8 A.M., Terry Dods of Slocan Forest Products arrived with a process server to formally serve a Supreme Court injunction to protesters blocking access to the Old Slocan Road and New Denver Flats. At least 75 people were at the road site. In addition, a group of approximately ten counter-protesters were in attendance with signs. Complete silence was maintained throughout the process by the people blocking access, and no answer was given to the repeated question by Terry Dods asking if the people would stand aside. No one moved. When the process server stepped forward to begin serving the injunction to each protester, the group simultaneously turned their back on him and faced up the Old Slocan Road. The process server went around to each person and attempted to give them a copy of the injunction and then dropped it at their feet. During this period, the counter-demonstrators pointedly photographed and videotaped those people being served with the injunction. |
