July 21, 1997
Old Sandon Road, New Denver

At 8 AM two RCMP officers and six RCMP in caps and jumpsuits approached the people standing on the Old Sandon road. One officer read the injunction, followed by the enforcement order, and then asked if people would stand aside, or face arrest. Everyone moved aside except for about ten people. The RCMP officer who read the order then went to each individual person still standing in the road and asked them if they would stand aside. Seven people stated that they would not stand aside and were arrested. As the people who were arrested were brought out, the counter-protestors across the highway cheered. Complete silence was maintained during the entire proceedings by the people standing alongside the Old Sandon road, except for clapping for the arrestees as they were led away by the RCMP.
